What is a criterium? Criterium: A bicycle race of a specified number of laps on a closed course over public roads closed to normal traffic. Criteriums can be classified as a combination of strength, speed, endurance, and tactics to win.

Boise Twilight Criterium Seems Promising As 34th Anniversary Nears
The year 2021 is already looking up. The Boise Twilight Criterium is looking promising at its date set for July 10, 2021. Celebrating its 34th anniversary, cyclists from all over the world compete in different categories for cash and of course, bragging rights.
A press release sent out in February 2021 confirmed preliminary plans for the cycling event to take place with subject to change. As of May 2021, Race Director Mike Cooley gave an update for Boise Twilight Criterium.
"As of now, things look promising for bringing the event back on July 10, 2021," said Cooley.
In past years, the Boise Twilight Criterium has brought in over 20,000 spectators, as social distancing guidelines are still in place, it is uncertain on the turnout for the upcoming event.
"We will thoroughly communicate changes to shifts and protocol, and any necessary updates from here forward," said Cooley.
As of May 11, 2021 COVID-19 cases appear to be lowering as vaccinations are now open to anyone 16 years or older.
