A Boise Night Out
Wine and Design in Boise is the perfect arts and craft night to enjoy with friends. Located in downtown Boise on Bannock St., Wine and Design mixes art, beverages, and fun for everyone!
A few members of the Totally Boise team got the chance to indulge on a ladies’ night out — and let’s just say while we were encouraged to keep our day jobs, the experience was a blast!
No Painting Experience Required
Not knowing what to expect, we were all nervous about what level of experience was needed to create a masterpiece. The best part of Wine and Design is that you don’t have to be artistic or have a “natural” talent for painting. Each canvas has a pre-sketched drawing on it. Prior to the class, your group is able to pick out of hundreds of designs which painting you want to put to the test!
Guiding us through the process, the instructor Hannah already had a finished product of what we could aim for, while also painting one side-by-side with thorough instructions as the class continued. This took the ease of having the “best” painting and rather made the experience even more fun, giving us an idea of how we could customize our painting.
Paint and Sip
Though we came for the painting aspect, we thoroughly enjoyed the wine. In the back of Wine and Design is a minibar with wine and non-alcohol options. While painting, a few of us chose to unwined with a local Chardonnay from Sawtooth Winery. Throughout the night, Hannah would remind us to take a step back, evaluate our work thus far, and of course, take a sip of wine.

The best part is, although we all had the same design, not a single one of our paintings came out the same. Hannah said her favorite part of her job is seeing everyone’s personality through their final product — she also made the night super interactive. Totally Boise got to post on our personal social media, and at the end of the class, whoever got the most ‘likes’ got to pick a bonus painting to take home!
