Fall Beer & Wine Festivals in the Treasure Valley

Last updated August 15, 2023 by Totally Boise

Weather conditions and prime soil make Idaho great for growing things like potatoes. But that also makes it great for growing hops for beer and grapes for wine. Join these breweries and wineries as they celebrate the fall harvest season with a traditional beer or wine festival.

Old Boise Oktoberfest

In celebration of the original German Oktoberfest, Old Boise holds its annual Oktoberfest on September 23rd.

Happening in the Old Boise area of 6th & Main, this event features music, German beer, games, and authentic Bavarian food.

Why is Oktoberfest in September, you may ask? As the festival got longer, the starting dates were moved into September when the days were longer and the weather was warmer.

So break out your dirndl, lederhosen, and beer stein!

Payette Brewing Oktoberfest

Held the same weekend as Oktoberfest in Germany, Friday, September 15th through Sunday, September 17th 2022, this three-day party is just like being at the real thing!

All ages are welcome at this free event at Payette Brewing Co. in Boise. Buy a one-liter glass stine which includes your first drink token or buy tokens for additional bier fills.

You’ll enjoy German decorations inside and outside the brewery, German-inspired food, and games like axe-throwing and hammerschlagen.

Eagle Food and Wine Festival

The annual Eagle Food and Wine Festival is back this year to celebrate its 17th anniversary.

This festival, located at BanBury Golf Course, features Idaho wineries and premier local chefs partnering to create the perfect tasting experience.

This year’s dates have yet to be announced, so stay tuned!

Boise Bacon & Beer Festival

The Boise Bacon & Beer Festival is back, bringing bacon and beer together outdoors at Expo Boise!

Taking place Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1–5 pm, the festival will feature 25 local/regional craft breweries and cideries, local restaurants, and food trucks competing for the title of “best bacon dish.” A live DJ and lots of awesome yard games will also be there to enjoy.

Each $45 general admission ticket comes with a commemorative 5 oz Bacon & Beer Festival glass, drink tokens, and tickets for bacon/bacon-inspired dishes. Must be 21+ to attend.
