One of my core memories from growing up, was flying down a snowy hill, laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Besides Christmas morning, this was my favorite time during the winter months. It’s that time of year again and I couldn’t be more excited!
When the snow starts falling in Boise, everyone starts flocking to the best places for sledding, here are seven sledding spots to check out!
Camel's Back Park
While Camel's Back is highly trafficked in the summer months for hiking, it also doubles as the perfect sledding spot. It is perfect for all ages as there is a variety of terrain to ride, from the main big hill to smaller spots around the park.

Bogus Basin Pepsi GoldRush Tubing Hill

A resident favorite for many reasons, the scenic drive up to Bogus Basin is a winter wonderland and once at the top you can whisk down the tubing hill or bring your board or skis and hit the slopes. The tubing hill is an 800 ft. downhill thrill with a conveyor-lift that takes you back to the top. Online reservations required, view days and hours of operation.
Gateway Parks

One of Totally Boise's favorite place to tube is Gateway Parks. Gateway Parks was designed and coordinated for the ultimate tubing experience. Located at Eagle Island State Park, Gateway Parks is set up with four lanes to sled down with a magic carpet lifts, making getting up the ramps easily accessible and allowing you to have more energy to tube!

Simplot Hill
It's as if this hill was meant for sledding purposes. The Simplot Hill is a Boise landmark and has a steep yet clean hill to ride down on your tube or sled. There are steeper areas on this hill so make sure to be cautious and mindful when sledding this hill as there is a road at the bottom. Enjoy a great view of the valley (and a great workout when hiking back up to the top)!

Military Reserve
Military Reserve is a fun spot for sledding because you can explore the natural terrain to find the perfect spot to cruise down. It's FREE and perfect if you live in the heart of downtown and are looking for a fun activity for the kiddos with limited time.

Hewett Park
If you are looking for a mild sledding spot with wide open space to take the smaller kiddos, Hewett Park is the spot for you! Sledders will find six acres of open area that features a number of different sledding area.

Julius M. Kleiner Park
Another family favorite spot, this one is perfect for those looking for milder hills and lots of open space for the kiddos to run around. Conveniently located right next to the Village at Meridian, you can grab a bite to eat or a hot drink to warm up with after your sledding adventures.
