Last updated December 10, 2020 by Totally Boise

BOISE, IDAHO –– Governor Brad Little held a press conference Thursday, December 10, 2020 in regards to the ongoing pandemic.

The state of Idaho will continue the Stage 2 public health order until further notice in an effort to keep COVID-19 cases and hospital capacity rates lower.

COVID-19 is currently the third leading cause of death in Idaho this year and the number one cause of death in November 2020.

Governor Little introduced St. Luke’s ICU Nurse, Kristen Conley to speak on the severity of the ongoing virus.

“In all my time I have never seen anything that looks quite like this,” said Conley.

Conway has been an ICU nurse for 24 years, sharing her firsthand experience with patients of all ages who have contracted the virus.

“This virus is distinct, this is a pandemic, this virus is highly contagable,” said Conley.

Governor Little sympathizes with the community on the “devastating situation” while urging Idaho residents to do their part in order to slow the spread for hospitals.

“Our success and failures come down to personal decisions,” said Governor Little.

Governor Little encourages Idaho residents to take the virus seriously and comply with the current health order.

COVID-19

While COVID-19 has affected us all mentally and physically, it is important to follow recommended restrictions not only slow the spread to others, but for the sake of our local hospitals. While Governor Little said that since March, 1,100 nurses have been hired, hospital beds are limited and nurses are working overtime.
