Boise State Football
“GO BIG BLUE!” Boise is proud to be home of the Boise State University Broncos. Each game is filled with die-hard Bronco fans ready to cheer on Boise’s favorite sports team.
The Broncos play at the Albertsons Stadium known as “The Blue” or for better terms the “smurf turf”. It holds 36,000 fans and is recognizably often sold out or near capacity. No ticket? Don’t worry the stadium parking lot fills up with tailgates and the majority of sports bars and restaurants host watch parties.
The Broncos have a long history of success starting with the Junior College and the National Championship team of 1957, coached by the father of Bronco Football, Lyle Smith. The Broncos have participated in NCAA Division 1 since 1996. Boise State joined the Mountain West Conference in 2011 and has continued to flourish since.
If you’re new to Boise we advise you to head to the nearest Bronco Shop and pick up some gear so you can fit right in.
